Attention Bands. Want to Play Green Man Festival?
Posted May 7, 2010
The Camden Head loves the Green Man Festival. There’s no better way to spend an August weekend than away from London, lying on a Welsh hill and listening to some of the best bands around, from The Flaming Lips and Joanna Newsom to Fuck Buttons and These New Puritans.
Now, the festival are giving bands a chance to go one better, with their annual Green Poll. Submit your band over at http://www.greenman.net/greenpoll and you’ll be entered into a public vote to win the opening slot at this year’s festival. Joined by acts submitted by Drowned in Sound, the 5 finalists will be judged by music industry experts including Stephen Bass (co founder of Moshi Moshi records), Simon Raymonde (owner and director of Bella Union) and Phil Alexander (Mojo) at The Monarch on July 8th.
The winner will open the festival, receive 6 free pairs of free tickets for family and friends and appear on Green Man radio, Youtube and in the press.
And what’s more, every single voter taking part will be entered into a prize draw to win free – yes, free – Green Man tickets!
Make sure you pop down to The Monarch to check out the bands on July 8th.
